🎢💥 Chaos at Coney Beach Pleasure Park! 💥🎢

A family day out turned into a nightmare when the Wacky Worm ride derailed at Coney Beach Pleasure Park in Porthcawl, injuring 14 people—13 of them children. The small introductory roller coaster was meant to be the perfect first thrill but ended up causing quite the scare.

Eyewitnesses described scenes of panic as terrified children were helped to safety by quick-thinking adults after the front carriage came off the tracks. Emergency services, including police, fire, and ambulance crews, rushed to the scene, and seven individuals were taken to hospital for further treatment.

Rebecca Eccleston, one of the visitors, recounted the horrifying moment she heard a “massive bang” just before a metal railing fell onto her shoulder and her son’s pram. Thankfully, her one-year-old only sustained minor bruises.
Another parent, Matthew Baker, recalled the terrifying seconds when the ride lifted off the rails with his three kids on board. “It was all chaos,” he said, while sharing how his teenage daughter shielded her autistic, non-verbal brother during the ordeal.
Onlookers described a scene of confusion as police and rescue workers managed the incident, trying to calm the growing crowd. Park visitors demanded refunds, while authorities began investigating what went wrong.
In their official statement, Coney Beach clarified that the incident involved a third-party ride, and they are working with authorities to ensure safety. The park remains closed for investigations, and affected visitors will receive refunds.
