⚽️ Game on the line, tension in the air, but unfortunately, not everyone kept their cool at the Cardiff City vs Newport County match. Two fans are now facing a three-year ban from all football games, having crossed the line at the thrilling encounter on October 7th.

Gavin Fernquest from Newport couldn’t contain his excitement after Newport’s victory. CCTV caught him parading with an orange smoke bomb in the away stand. He owned up to having a pyrotechnic device in court but denied sneaking it into the stadium. The result? A Football Banning Order plus fines adding up to £401.

Meanwhile, Ashley Collins from Aberdare decided to take his celebration to the pitch, literally. He dashed across the field only to be caught by stewards and later found carrying cocaine. A double whammy at court earned him a ban and fines tallying £253. This isn’t his first pitch invasion – the 2012 incident ended similarly for Collins.

These bans mean football is off-limits, home and abroad, for both lads until 2028, including that much-anticipated Euro 2028 here in the UK.
Most fans enjoyed the match without incident, but these disruptions have sparked ongoing investigations. South Wales Police’s superintendent, Emma Fox, expressed her appreciation for fans who behaved perfectly, stating that actions against the disorderly are in motion.
