🔪 Tragedy in Catford: Retribution Turns Deadly

A 27-year-old man, Sanchini Thompson, tragically lost his life in Catford town centre in the early hours of October 15th. In a shocking turn of events, a court has heard that his death was the result of a violent act of “retribution.”

Thompson was allegedly involved in the robbery of Earl Junior Strachan, 33, from whom he stole not only an e-scooter but also cash and other possessions. In what appears to be a revenge attack, Strachan is accused of arming himself with a large hunting knife and stabbing Thompson around 3am.
Emergency services rushed to Rushey Green in Lewisham, but despite their efforts, Thompson tragically succumbed to his injuries at the hospital. Strachan was apprehended six days later, reportedly while attempting to flee to Belfast from Scotland.
Charged with murder and possession of a knife, Strachan has appeared at the Old Bailey, where the serious allegations against him were outlined. The judge highlighted the motive as revenge for the robbery, where three assailants were involved, yet only one was fatally injured.
Strachan, currently without a fixed address, has been remanded in custody. Mark your calendars, as the case will head back to court on January 30th for a plea hearing, with a potential trial set for early 2026.
Stay tuned for further updates on this developing story as we approach the court dates. Let’s keep Catford in our thoughts during these challenging times. 💔
