🔍 Spot the Signs: 6 Symptoms You Should Never Ignore! 🎗️

Feeling under the weather is common, but knowing when to take symptoms seriously could make all the difference. Dr Anthony Cunliffe, GP and Lead Medical Adviser at Macmillan Cancer Support, highlights key symptoms that should never be overlooked. Here’s what to watch out for:
1. **Unexplained or Changing Lumps**: Find a new lump? Notice an existing one change? Don’t brush it off. Get it checked!

2. **Lesions on the Skin**: Keep an eye on moles, freckles, or any skin patches. If they change in colour, shape, or size, book a GP visit ASAP!

3. **Bleeding**: Seeing blood and haven’t injured yourself? Be it bruises, gum bleeding, or blood from the back passage—it’s worth a doctor’s visit.
4. **Change in Bowel Habits**: If things aren’t regular for more than three weeks, it’s time to talk to your GP. This includes new diarrhoea, changes in stool colour, or stubborn constipation.
5. **Persistent Cough**: A cough lingering beyond three weeks, even without smoking, merits attention. Get it checked to rule out anything serious.
6. **Unintentional Weight Loss**: Dropping pounds without trying? Your doctor needs to know, as it could signal multiple health issues, including cancer.
Remember, this isn’t a cause for panic but a call to stay informed. The sooner something serious is caught, the better your chances of successful treatment. Dr Cunliffe advises, “Early detection makes a huge difference.”
Don’t wait – if you experience any of these symptoms for over three weeks, it’s time to chat with your GP. Stay proactive about your health! 💪👨‍⚕️ #HealthAwareness #EarlyDetection #CancerPrevention
