Heartbreak in West Wales! 😢 A dog sanctuary in Trimsaran has faced “devastating” flooding, leaving dozens of dogs trapped in the loft after heavy rain swept through Carmarthenshire. The downpour turned into waist-deep water, forcing founder Alison Clark to move 37 dogs, including 28 “more reactive” ones, to the loft for safety. Nine brave pups were rescued by the fire service, but others remained stuck overnight.

Alison expressed her heartbreak, saying, “We are broken and exhausted,” as she appealed for support. The sanctuary has “lost everything,” with only two bags of dog food left and no power or working washing machines. Alison added, “Every level we went up, the water followed.”

Amidst the destruction, she’s grateful the dogs are safe and alive, thanks to the fire brigade and Many Tears Rescue. Now, the road ahead involves repairing, cleaning, and rebuilding—all they need is a helping hand! 🐾
A fundraising page is up and running to help the sanctuary rise from this catastrophe. Alison shared that they spent around £80,000 to elevate the sanctuary previously, but this time it wasn’t enough. With roads flooded for the 12th time since July, there’s an urgent need for new kennels in the loft to prevent future disasters.
