🎀 At 29, Amy from Cwmbran faced a life-changing diagnosis: aggressive breast cancer. Her kids were just five and six months old at the time, and she vowed to make every moment with them count, fearing each festive season might be her last. Despite the uphill battle – six months of chemo, a brave face during the holidays, and the emotional toll – Amy pushed on with unwavering determination.

“Making memories is everything,” Amy shares. “You never know if this might be your last Christmas or birthday with family.” Her inspiring journey, captured by Cancer Research Wales’ new TV campaign, shines a light on the realities of living with cancer and the importance of research in giving families the precious ‘Gift of Time’.

Following successful surgery and a tough treatment path, Amy, now 35, returned to work cancer-free and stronger than ever. Her resilience and passion extend beyond her personal fight. She’s raised over £5,500 for Cancer Research Wales, running marathons and organising community events.
“By the end of the decade, 230,000 people in Wales will be living with cancer,” says Adam Fletcher, Chief Executive of Cancer Research Wales. “Amy’s story will help us reach more people and underline the critical need for continued research and support.”
🦋 This festive season, Amy’s story is a powerful reminder of cherishing every moment and the vital role of research in keeping families together for more Christmases to come. 🎄❤️
