๐ธ Say Goodbye to an Icon ๐ธ

Music fans are heartbroken after learning the sad fate of the iconic red telephone box featured in a memorable Stereophonics photoshoot from the ’90s. This charming kiosk, located in the heart of Cwmaman, a former mining village in the Welsh valleys, was more than just a structure; it was a cultural symbol.
๐ What Happened?
The booth mysteriously vanished in 2019, leaving a community searching for answers. Despite a passionate campaign to preserve it, the trail has gone cold. BT confirmed that attempts to bring it back were halted by the pandemic, and unfortunately, the phone box is now presumed scrapped.

๐ค Memories Still Live On
Fans travelled from near and far to recreate the iconic photo of Kelly Jones, Richard Jones, and the late Stuart Cable striking a pose back in their heyday. Residents cherished the kiosk not just for its musical ties but for its potential to transform into something moreโa music hub, book exchange, or even a life-saving defibrillator station.
Shaun Griffiths from The Shepherds Arms pub captured the sentiment perfectly, noting, “It’s a real shame. Fans loved coming here, snapping photos, and embracing our little village.”
This loss underscores the rich tapestry of rock and roll history and cultural heritage nestled in the valleys of Wales. ๐ถ
