In an unexpected twist, 21-year-old Cameron Lloyd from Aberbargoed got more than he bargained for when police knocked on his door. Shirtless and surprised, Lloyd simply asked, “Can I put some clothes on?” before being nabbed for drug offences.

The police visit wasn’t random. Messages linked to the supply of class A drugs were discovered on Lloyd’s associate’s phone, leading officers straight to him. What they found was a stash: 122g of cannabis and 2.4g of cocaine in Lloyd’s possession, along with £515 in cash and two electric bikes. Despite having no previous convictions, Lloyd admitted to being involved in the supply of class A drugs.

At Cardiff Crown Court, he was handed a 27-month sentence. His defence argued that Lloyd, keen on maintaining his relationship with his partner, had only been dealing for a short while. Yet, as PC Nikhita Bryant noted, intelligence from an ongoing drugs investigation painted a different story, revealing Lloyd’s significant involvement in the illicit trade. It seems he wasn’t just a small-timer after all.
This case highlights the persistent efforts of Gwent Police to tackle drug supply in Caerphilly county, protecting communities from the harm caused by illegal substances. Lloyd’s surprise arrest serves as a reminder that the law is always watching, ready to act when you least expect it. Stay safe and alert, folks!
