🚨 Attention shoppers! Big changes are hitting the aisles of some of your favourite supermarkets! 🚨

Morrisons, Tesco, and Sainsbury’s are pulling a number of their budget-friendly items from the shelves, with a report showing nearly a 12% drop in the cheapest lines. This means some of those go-to affordable options might not be around on your next shopping trip. 😲

Here’s what’s happening:
– Morrisons is seeing a 15.6% drop in its Savers and Wonky lines.

– Tesco’s popular ‘Exclusively at Tesco’ brands are down 13.6%.
– Sainsbury’s Stamford Street Co lines have decreased by 6.2%.
To give you an idea of what’s changing, Tesco has waved goodbye to Stockwell & Co muesli and Eastman’s wafer-thin cooked chicken slices, while Morrisons bid adieu to Savers fish fingers and garlic baguettes. Sainsbury’s cut back on items like cheese tortellini. 😕 But don’t worry, some have been replaced with similar products at slightly higher prices.
Retailers are tweaking their inventory to offer better options, and prices might be readjusted. Tesco, for instance, continues to work on providing value through its Aldi Price Match scheme.
Supermarkets acknowledge the shift in customer needs and are promising to review their budget ranges. Don’t be surprised as you may see new products rolling out in these ranges soon!
But there is some good news! Grocery price inflation has eased a bit, giving a slight breather to household budgets. Plus, shoppers are spending more on own-label goods, snagging around 52.2% of grocery sales.
In the ever-changing grocery landscape, Lidl and Ocado are leading growth, with sales up by 10.1% and 14.1%, respectively, while other retailers like Sainsbury’s and Tesco are also seeing healthy growth. 🚀
Stay savvy, shoppers! Keep an eye out for these changes on your next supermarket visit and make the most out of your budget. 🛒💸
