BBC Winter Olympics Pundit Stirs Up Controversy Over Outfit Choices!

The Winter Olympics in Italy are catching eyes not just for the thrilling sports but a bit of dress drama! Former Olympic skier and current BBC pundit Chemmy Alcott found herself in a frosty situation after wearing outfits that didn’t slide with the BBC’s rules. The 43-year-old, who’s no stranger to the slopes, was “spoken to” by the bosses for sporting clothes from the brand Snow Finel, where she’s been an ambassador and designer since 2019.

Under BBC rules, presenters can’t rock anything on air that they’re promoting or have a financial interest in, and Alcott’s stylish knitwear caught the wrong kind of attention. After stepping into broadcasting post-retirement, Chemmy dazzled viewers and became a regular fixture, especially with her gig on Ski Sunday since 2021. But it seems her fashion choices could leave her out in the cold again, as the BBC has made it clear: no more Snow Finel on air.
The BBC’s not new to dishing out dress codes. Alex Scott and Dame Laura Kenny have also been called out for similar infractions in the past few years, swapping sports stripes for fashion frights. Could this just be the tip of the iceberg for presenter dress guidelines?
What’s your take? Are these rules too strict, or just right for keeping things fair? Let us know! 🏔️❄️⛷️
