In a shocking and brave act of survival, a woman was forced to leap from a first-floor window to escape her abusive partner, breaking her back and ankle in the process. The horror unfolded after a simple mix-up with a pizza delivery at the hands of Colin Ferry, the so-called “black sheep” of a notorious crime family.

The couple’s argument escalated when the pizza was mistakenly sent to the wrong address, prompting a barrage of insults and violence from Ferry. Fearing for her life, the woman chose to jump, landing heavily on her heel and running terrified into the street in search of help.

The ordeal left her hospitalised with serious injuries, needing surgery and awaiting further operations. Once active and full of life, she now lives in constant fear, having been forced to leave her friends and relocate for safety. Ferry, with a history of violent offences, has been sentenced to 32 months in prison following his guilty plea to inflicting GBH, alongside a lengthy restraining order.
In an emotional victim impact statement, the woman described how her life has been turned upside down and how she remains on edge, haunted by the memories of that day. Despite his past and family ties to organised crime, Ferry’s defence portrayed him as remorseful, even shocked by the severity of his actions.
