Big News in Welsh Rugby! 🏉

In an unexpected twist, the Wales rugby squad has a fresh face in their coaching line-up. Former Wales prop, Paul James, steps up as the new scrum coach for the Six Nations, after a freak training incident sidelined Duncan Jones.

Jones, who was back with the national team on a secondment from the Ospreys, had an unfortunate collision during a live session that led to surgery on both knees. We’re all sending him speedy recovery vibes. 💪
Enter Paul James: a former Grand Slam champ with 66 caps, who’s been honing his coaching skills with the Ospreys since his retirement in 2018, and with Wales U20s in 2021. He’s thrilled to join the team: “I’m excited for the opportunity to come in and coach with Wales. I’m looking forward to doing all I can to help the boys.”
Head coach Steve Tandy expressed his appreciation, “It’s great to add Paul to the coaching team. My thanks to the Ospreys for enabling this opportunity at short notice. Duncan will be really missed, and we wish him all the best with his recovery.”
Despite the setback, Jones remains positive: “I’m absolutely gutted that a freak injury means I’m unable to continue in camp with Wales this Six Nations. I’ve thoroughly enjoyed the opportunity to coach international rugby and being able to work with this great group of players and staff.”
Join us in welcoming Paul to this exciting new chapter and in wishing Duncan a swift comeback! 👏🏉 #WalesRugby #SixNations #GetWellSoonDuncan
