13-Year-Old Boy in Custody Following Counter-Terror Investigation into School Stabbing

Terrible day at Kingsbury High School in Brent, North-West London. A shocking incident occurred when two boys, aged 12 and 13, were stabbed on school grounds. Both are in a serious condition and receiving urgent medical attention.

The suspect in this incident, a 13-year-old boy, was initially on the run but has since been apprehended. A weapon, believed to have been used in the stabbing, was also recovered. He’s currently in custody and under suspicion of attempted murder.

Detective Chief Superintendent Luke Williams is leading the fast-paced investigation. While the case is being overseen by Counter-Terrorism Policing, they’ve made it clear this hasn’t yet been officially labelled as a terrorist act. However, they are keeping an open mind about the motive and are working diligently to gather evidence and understand the full circumstances.

Headteacher Alex Thomas reached out to parents, describing the day as “deeply traumatic for the entire school community.” The Lower School will close on Wednesday, but the Upper School remains open for years 10–13. Thomas praised the calm and dedicated response from both staff and students, who remained patient and respectful as investigations began.
