English road signs across Wales are being defaced, leaving only Welsh translations visible. Areas like Carmarthenshire, Pembrokeshire, Powys, and Monmouthshire have been hit recently, sparking strong words from the political circle.

Andrew RT Davies, a Senedd member, isn’t holding back, labelling these acts as “disgraceful” and emphasizing respect for the non-Welsh speaking community. He criticised the Welsh separatist activists responsible, stressing that English is a part of Welsh culture and should not be obliterated.

He stated, “Over 80% of people in Wales don’t speak Welsh. They must be respected. These vandals cannot decide what being Welsh means and should face the consequences.”

One focal point in this wave of vandalism is St Clears, known in Welsh as ‘Sancler’. Ironically, its Welsh name derives from its English origin, making the targeting even more contentious.
