**Muse Spark Speculation With Teasers for New Track ‘Unravelling’**

Fans of the British rock powerhouse Muse have been abuzz with anticipation this week, as the band appear to be hinting at their return with brand new music. The acclaimed trio, led by frontman Matt Bellamy, have captured the attention of the music world after sharing cryptic teasers online, strongly suggesting that a fresh single entitled “Unravelling” could be released in the near future.
Recent activity on Muse’s official Instagram page has fed the speculation. The band uploaded a short video clip, the audio of which features a previously unheard track. The post, simply captioned “Back at it,” ends with the title ‘Unravelling’ appearing momentarily on screen—a clear sign that new material is imminent.

It isn’t the first time this month the band have fuelled rumours about their next project. Earlier, an animated teaser posted to their socials flashed the message “Something’s coming…” Following that, Muse shared an enigmatic image of their silhouetted figures alongside the phrase, “An insect trapped in amber”—a statement that has left fans eagerly hypothesising about its meaning and about the potential new artistic direction of the group.
The discussion around Muse’s forthcoming material comes several months after bassist Chris Wolstenholme hinted at plans for a new album. Speaking candidly on The Leona Graham Podcast, Wolstenholme disclosed that after wrapping up their previous commitments with Warner, the band are contemplating their next steps and are keen to commence work on their tenth studio album in the not-too-distant future.
Wolstenholme described how Muse have been taking time to reflect and “reset” following extensive touring for their last album ‘Will of the People’, which was released in 2022. He noted, “When you finish touring an album, and [when] the band has been around a bit longer, the gaps between albums get a little bit bigger. I don’t think we can be banging out new albums every two years like we used to.”
He further indicated that fans may need to wait until 2026 for the band’s next full album, although he expressed his eagerness to get back into the creative process soon. “I think we’ll start very, very soon, like in the next couple of months. We’ve got a few gigs in June, only a handful – that’s the only gigs we’re doing this year. I don’t think the idea is to do anything really serious until next year, so I would imagine that 2026 will be a new album, barring any disasters,” he remarked.
During the band’s break from touring and recording, Wolstenholme has not remained idle. He has invested energy into a side project called Chromes, which debuted with two tracks in October. Chromes’ most recent release, ‘The One,’ arrived just last week, featuring Wolstenholme on lead vocals—a move that illustrates his continued drive and versatility as a musician.
As the summer festival season looms, speculation is rife about when Muse might next take to the stage with new material. Their history at major venues—such as their renowned performance at Glastonbury’s Pyramid Stage—means expectations for their comeback are high.
It remains to be seen when “Unravelling” will be formally released or if further announcements from Muse’s camp are imminent, but these recent clues have undoubtedly reignited excitement among their global fanbase. For now, listeners can only watch their socials—and wait for what promises to be another stirring chapter in Muse’s ever-evolving story.
