### Woman Claims Dramatic Skin Transformation and Weight Loss in a Month on Restrictive Diet

A woman has caused a stir online after attributing the complete disappearance of her facial wrinkles, a significant weight reduction, and a surprise pregnancy to a highly restrictive dietary regimen followed for just one month.

Janis Luize Rocha Leites, aged 30, revealed the remarkable changes she experienced after switching to the so-called ‘carnivore diet’—a programme that involves consuming almost exclusively animal products, eschewing vegetables, grains, and all other carbohydrates. She says the strict nutritional overhaul left her virtually unrecognisable within 30 days, impacting not only her appearance but also her overall health.

Before embarking on her dietary experiment, Janis admits she was far from satisfied with her appearance and well-being. Despite never struggling with her weight previously, she noticed a decline in her general health after trying a vegetarian lifestyle. She spoke of persistent fatigue, problematic skin featuring red blemishes, unexplained hair loss, and low energy levels that left her feeling disconnected from her own body.
The inspiration for her new routine reportedly came from a friend whose transformation prompted curiosity. She noticed his skin and hair had improved and, after discovering he had adopted the carnivore diet, she became intrigued by the possibility for herself. Encouraged by his success, Janis decided to attempt a 30-day ‘cleanse’, limiting herself to eating only meat, salt, and water—cutting out not only processed foods, but also anything plant-based.
“The change was almost immediate,” Janis explained, attributing her newfound vitality to her animal-based diet. “My skin cleared up; the small red blemishes and swelling on my face vanished. Even my wrinkles disappeared, which felt like I’d had cosmetic treatments. This plan left me with more energy than I remember having in years.” Over the one-month period, she claims she lost 20lbs and her menstrual cycle became more regular.
Interestingly, Janis believes that this dramatic switch may even have played a role in her falling pregnant earlier this year. While cautious to acknowledge causation, she shared that both she and her partner, Luis Pantolfi, 30, were not actively trying to conceive, but weren’t preventing pregnancy either. She suspects the dietary overhaul may have increased her fertility, remarking, “I told my boyfriend I felt more fertile. While I can’t be sure, the timing does seem to match.”
Even now, 23 weeks into her pregnancy, Janis largely adheres to the carnivore diet, though she has incorporated some fruits and carbohydrates to support healthy prenatal weight gain. Her daily intake typically features 300g of meat, with a focus on red meats but including some chicken and pork. Breakfast often consists of scrambled eggs, meat, and occasionally bone broth, while lunch centres around grilled meat.
Notably, Janis described a lifelong aversion to vegetables: “Even organic ones made me feel bloated. After switching diets, not only did that feeling disappear, but so did my sugar cravings—which was a first for me, as I’ve always had a sweet tooth. Now, I feel like an entirely new person.”
Looking to the future, Janis plans to introduce her baby—who is due in November—to aspects of the carnivore diet. She advocates starting with bone broth once solid foods are appropriate, claiming the high fat content aids in mood stability and sleep.
Janis’s experience adds to the ongoing intrigue and debate around fad diets and wellness trends. Medical professionals typically urge caution and recommend that any drastic dietary change, especially exclusion-based regimens, should be approached with medical oversight—particularly for expectant mothers. Nonetheless, stories like Janis’s continue to spark discussion among those exploring alternatives to mainstream nutrition advice.
Whether her impressive results were a direct consequence of the carnivore diet or a combination of factors remains a matter of personal belief and scientific debate. As the popularity of dramatic dietary interventions grows, so does interest in their long-term effects on health and well-being.
