**Urgent Search Underway After Teenager Disappears in Broad Daylight**

A widespread police search is underway across South Wales and West Wales after a 17-year-old boy, named as Deacon, went missing during daylight hours in the early afternoon. The circumstances surrounding his sudden disappearance have heightened concerns among his family, friends, and law enforcement, who are now appealing to the public for any information that could assist in tracing his whereabouts.

Deacon was last spotted at approximately 1pm on Friday, 11 July, as he departed an address located in Blaenavon. Since then, efforts to contact or locate him have been unsuccessful, with authorities still unsure about what clothing he was wearing at the time he went missing. This lack of detail has added to the challenge faced by search teams and further complicated the investigation.
The teenager is described as being around 5 feet 8 inches in height, of average build, and with brown hair. He is white, and no further identifying features have been released by police. With no sightings or confirmed information regarding his possible movements since Friday, police say the situation is becoming increasingly worrying as each day passes without news.
Gwent Police have launched an appeal and are actively encouraging anyone with information, however minor it may seem, to come forward. In a statement, a police spokesperson conveyed the seriousness of the case: “Gwent Police is appealing for information to find 17-year-old Deacon, who has been reported as missing. He was last seen at about 1pm on Friday, 11 July, leaving an address in Blaenavon. At this time, it is not known what he was wearing.”
They continued, “He has links to multiple areas including Caerphilly, Blackwood, Brynmawr, Tredegar, Abertillery, Ebbw Vale and Pontypool in South Wales. In addition, Deacon has associations with several locations in West Wales, notably Haverfordwest, Fishguard and Tenby. Officers are therefore extending their search and appeal for cooperation across a wide geographical area.”
The broad network of places with which Deacon is connected has led officers to believe that he could be anywhere within these communities. Officers are working closely with local people, businesses, and community groups to distribute information and heighten awareness about his disappearance.
This incident has naturally caused significant distress among Deacon’s loved ones. Friends and relatives have joined police in urging the public to keep an eye out and report anything that might help locate the missing teenager. It is an unsettling time for all involved, particularly as the summer holidays begin and community movement increases, potentially complicating the search.
Those who may have spotted Deacon, or who possess even the slightest clue about his movements, are asked to contact Gwent Police as soon as possible. Authorities have stressed that details, however small, could prove crucial to the investigation. Information can be given by calling 101, sending a direct message through Facebook or X (formerly Twitter), or submitting an online tip via the police website—quoting log reference 2500223870.
Cases of missing young people, especially when they vanish under ordinary circumstances such as the middle of the afternoon, often attract concern and attention on both local and national levels. Public assistance in such cases has been proven to play a pivotal role in successful outcomes, highlighting the importance of community vigilance.
The police urge anyone with relevant information to come forward, and remind the public that rapid communication can make all the difference. As the search continues, Deacon’s family remains hopeful for his safe return, with the community rallying in solidarity and support for his swift recovery.
