🌊 Could This Ancient Shell Trick Help 8 Million Snorers? 🐚

Tired of those sleepless nights filled with loud snores? Scientists might have found a surprising new remedy in an age-old tradition. The practice of shankh blowing — that’s blowing into a conch shell — could be the game-changer for Brits battling obstructive sleep apnoea (OSA).

An innovative study with researchers from India has shown promising results! Participants who took part in shankh blowing exercises reported better sleep quality and were a whopping 34% less sleepy during the day. Here’s the scoop: They trained for 15 minutes, five times a week — easy, right?
So, what’s happening here? The unique way a shankh is blown seems to strengthen upper airway muscles, helping keep them toned during sleep. This could be a fantastic, low-cost alternative to the somewhat uncomfortable CPAP machines many people currently use. Who knew a simple shell could pack such a punch?
Dr Krishna K Sharma, involved in the research, notes how this practice not only increases oxygen levels while you snooze but also reduces apnoeas (times when breathing stops) by four to five episodes per hour!
More research is on the horizon, with plans for larger studies to dive deeper into how this practice can combat more severe forms of OSA. Professor Sophia Schiza from the University of Crete calls it an “intriguing study” offering new hope in sleep disorder treatments.
Think you might give it a try? This could be the breath of fresh air your nights (and days) have been begging for! 🌬️💤 #SleepBetter #ShankhBlowing #SweetDreams
