🍺 Brewdog Brew-haha! 🍺

In a surprising twist, Brewdog beers have vanished from almost 2,000 UK pubs! The popular Punk IPA has faced the axe, with insiders revealing that around 1,860 establishments have removed Brewdog from their taps over the last two years. Chain pubs and large pub companies are now opting for competitors such as Camden Town and Beavertown.

This shake-up follows Brewdog’s recent announcement of closing 10 of its branded bars nationwide. CEO James Taylor is on a mission to reverse the company’s fortunes after suffering losses of £59 million in 2023 and £30.5 million in 2022. The situation is so critical that JD Wetherspoon’s 794 pubs are now the backbone of Brewdog’s distribution. As one insider quipped, “If they ever lost the JD Wetherspoon deal, then that’s Punk IPA done for as a pub trade product.”
Lauren Caroll, Brewdog’s Chief Operating Officer, chimed in, saying: “Independent brewers are feeling the heat from economic pressures in the pub trade. Rising costs and tight consumer spending have led pub groups to streamline their offerings, prioritising their own brands.” But Brewdog isn’t backing down. They’ve shifted their focus to high-impact opportunities like festivals, stadiums, and independent pubs to stay ahead.
