🎤 BBC sport presenter Gabby Logan has opened up about her experience with ageing and the surprising challenges it brought her on live TV. At 52, Gabby shares how an “abrupt” feeling marked her journey from her forties into her fifties, leaving her grappling with something many of us might face one day.

🧠 Gabby explains that she began to notice the cognitive fogginess during her 40s due to perimenopause. Suddenly, words and names would escape her during live broadcasts—something she previously excelled at. Describing her initial reaction to ageing, Gabby said, “I thought, ‘This is rubbish. I’m getting older suddenly.'”

📚 By educating herself about perimenopause and menopause, Gabby was able to understand the changes happening in her body, which motivated her to write “The Midpoint Plan” and launch her podcast. She’s on a mission to educate other women about this journey, much like how teenagers learn about adolescence.
✨ “We’re lucky to live in a time with so much information about hormones,” Gabby says, highlighting her relief upon realising her symptoms were part of the process.
💪 To tackle memory issues, Gabby started jotting things down, engaging in brain exercises like memorising numbers, and resisting the urge to rely on Google for information she already knows. Hormone replacement therapy (HRT) also played a part in enhancing her memory function.
