🎾 Tension in the Big Apple! 🎾

The US Open saw some wild scenes when tennis star Daniil Medvedev made an unforgettable exit. Knocked out in the first round by Benjamin Bonzi, the former world No. 1 left fans speechless with his dramatic on-court meltdown. 😱

It all kicked off when a photographer stepped onto the court as Bonzi was about to serve for match point, prompting umpire Greg Allensworth to reset the serve. Medvedev went ballistic, challenging the umpire’s decision and egging on the crowd’s boos, halting play for six-and-a-half minutes. 📸🕰️
“Are you a man?” Medvedev shouted at Allensworth, in a fiery exchange that caught everyone off guard. Despite the chaos, Medvedev levelled the match at two sets all. But the battle didn’t end in his favour – Bonzi clinched the final set, leaving Medvedev to smash his racket in frustration, a third consecutive first-round exit in a major tournament. 🔨
Security intervened, escorting the offending photographer out, and the United States Tennis Association revoked his credentials. Medvedev later admitted he expects a hefty fine for his outburst but chose not to comment further on Allensworth’s calls, hinting, “If I speak, I’m in big trouble.”
Benjamin Bonzi, visibly shaken, remarked: “Never experienced anything like that. It was so tough to play amid such chaos. Staying calm was a challenge!” 😅
