Llangrannog, known for its stunning beach and vibrant local businesses, draws thousands of tourists each year. It’s also home to the Gwersyll yr Urdd Llangrannog camp, which hosts countless children. Losing the public toilet would not only impact visitors’ comfort but might also threaten the village’s Blue Flag status! 🏖️

The Llangrannog Welfare Committee is leading the charge, emphasising that public toilets are essential for health, safety, and tourism. They argue Ceredigion County Council should keep these facilities open, especially during peak tourist seasons when the village is bustling.

Dr Kathryn Dawes, from the Llangrannog Welfare Committee, highlighted the issue: “Our small community council simply doesn’t have the resources to take over the toilets. It’s crucial for health and safety, tourism, and the future of our village that the council keeps them open.”

The council is currently debating whether local town and community councils should manage these facilities. In many areas, agreements are being made to ensure they remain open.

Support Llangrannog’s cause and let’s keep this charming village welcoming for all visitors! 💪✊
