Royal Mail is gearing up for a major shift as they plan to phase out second class post on Saturdays. The move, approved by Ofcom, means that second class letters will soon only be delivered every other weekday. But don’t worry, first-class post will still be coming to your door Monday through Saturday as usual!

Rolling out this change is a massive task, with Royal Mail working to ensure a smooth transition using insights from their current pilot scheme. Martin Seidenberg, CEO of the company’s owner, International Distribution Services, admits it’s a “massive task” and says they plan to take their time to get it right, aiming to finish well into 2026.
