Pierce, who starred in Remington Steele back in the 80s before his big Bond break in the 90s, revealed he admired how his Bond successor, Daniel Craig, embraced theatre. Daniel managed to juggle both worlds, delivering stellar performances on Broadway while still owning the 007 title.

In an interview, Pierce admitted, “Daniel had the bottle to go back out there. Why the heck didn’t I? It’s essential to be creative outside of Bond.” He initially began his acting journey in theatre with Tennessee Williams’ play, The Red Devil Battery Sign, in 1977. Tennessee even sent him a sweet telegram on opening night: “Thank God for you, my dear boy. Love, Tennessee Williams.”

Reflecting on his past, Pierce fondly remembers the legendary Tennessee and their late-night gatherings where captivating stories flowed as freely as the tipples.
