πβ¨ Heads up, stargazers! The Northern Lights, or aurora borealis, might just make a stunning appearance across the UK tonight! Thanks to a burst of solar activity, the magical light show could reach further south than usual. The Met Office suggests the best time to catch it will be between 9pm and midnight, and possibly until 3am.

If you missed the dazzling display last night, hereβs your chance to witness this rare spectacle. The aurora was even spotted in Wales for the first time, with incredible snapshots taken near the Black Mountain Quarry.
Just imagine the vibrant hues painting the sky, all thanks to a coronal mass ejection (CME) sending solar wind our way. These particles, interacting with Earth’s magnetic field, create the mesmerising lights known as geomagnetic storms.

Clear skies will be key, so keep an eye out! Even though the bright gibbous moon might try to steal the spotlight, a clear view could still reward you with breathtaking sights. π
Feeling curious about solar happenings? We’re currently at the peak of the solar cycle, which means more frequent auroras. Time to appreciate the wonders of nature right from our own backyards! Don’t miss out on this chance for a memorable night under the stars. πβ¨
