Craig Bellamy is calling for a rematch against Canada after their recent 1-0 friendly loss at the Swansea.com Stadium. The Welsh manager wasn’t thrilled with Canadian coach Jesse Marsch’s early celebrations during stoppage time, and he’s eager to settle the score at the World Cup next year!

Canada’s victory was secured by a stunning 25-yard free-kick from Derek Cornelius just before half-time. This marks only the second loss for Bellamy in his 12-game stint and his first defeat on home turf. Despite making eight changes from the squad that triumphed over Kazakhstan in a World Cup qualifier, Bellamy was clear: “I hate losing more than I like winning.”

Bellamy wasn’t just left fuming over Marsch’s actions—seeing him shake hands with his coaches before the final whistle rubbed him the wrong way. Yet, Bellamy insists he must get accustomed to such antics.
The match saw fresh faces as Cardiff teenager Ronan Kpakio, along with midfielders Joel Colwill and Kai Andrews, made their debuts. Bellamy is focused on developing his squad, asserting, “I don’t do excuses. I’m in the here and now. I want to win.”
Wales will face England in a friendly next month at Wembley before a crucial World Cup qualifier against Belgium in Cardiff. Bellamy emphasised the importance of playing top teams to improve speed, decision-making, and consistency.
As the dust settles on their Swansea defeat, it’s clear Bellamy is all about progress and determination. Stay tuned as Wales takes on top teams, with World Cup aspirations firmly in sight!
