Prince Harry has quietly jetted off to Ukraine in a heartfelt mission to aid the recovery of injured military personnel. The Duke of Sussex is making waves with his surprise trip to Kyiv, joining his team from the Invictus Games Foundation on an invitation from the Ukrainian government. While the full details of his packed agenda remain under wraps for security reasons, Harry’s determination to make a difference is clear.

Chatting with reporters during an overnight train ride to Kyiv, Harry shared his passion for supporting recovery efforts. “We can’t stop the war, but we can certainly aid those affected by it,” he expressed. “By humanising the struggle, I hope to keep Ukraine’s fight fresh in our minds.”

The visit comes on the heels of a reunion with his father, the King, marking their first face-to-face meeting in over a year. Motivated by a chance encounter in the States with Olga Rudnieva, founder of the Superhumans Trauma Centre in Lviv, Harry committed to the journey after ensuring it was okay with both his wife and the British government. Rudnieva’s message was clear: his presence in Kyiv would have the greatest impact.
In line with his visit, the Sussexes’ charitable foundation, Archewell, announced a significant donation of $500,000 (£369,000) to aid injured children from both Gaza and Ukraine, backing projects for medical evacuations and prosthetics.
During his stay, Harry is slated to visit the National Museum of the History of Ukraine in the Second World War and spend quality time with 200 veterans, alongside a meeting with Ukrainian Prime Minister Yulia Svyrydenko. Stay tuned for updates on his inspiring journey to bring attention and aid to those in need.
