Big news for Cardiff! The once rundown sports facility in Pentwyn has been transformed into a stunning skatepark, and it’s already stealing the show. 🎉

Parc Coed y Nant, tucked behind Pentwyn Leisure Centre, now boasts a state-of-the-art 300m² concrete skate area. This makeover replaces outdated equipment with a sleek, modern design, born from community input. 🌟

While there were mixed feelings about replacing the old bowling green with new outdoor padel courts, the revamped skatepark has been widely praised. Opening its gates on 10th September, this project is a part of the Cardiff Council’s Neighbourhood Renewal efforts and funded by the UK Government’s Shared Prosperity Fund.
Iconic Welsh skateboarder Mathew Pritchard has already given it a whirl, describing the new park as an “absolute beauty” and a perfect fit for the community. “Big up all involved,” he said, appreciating the investment into spaces that resonate with both the youth and seasoned skateboarders.
Councillor Lee Bridgeman, who was present at the grand opening, highlighted the council’s dedication: “This redevelopment is all about backing spaces that truly matter to our community and invigorating the local spirit.”
The buzz is here, and it’s palpable! Cardiff, get ready to shred and enjoy this new gem. 🛹✨
