Keir Starmer Reacts to Massive Turnout at Tommy Robinson Event

Keir Starmer has made his stance clear following a massive rally led by Tommy Robinson over the weekend. The Prime Minister condemned the use of the Britain’s flag as a symbol of hatred and division, especially after 26 police officers were injured amid the event’s chaos. Starmer emphasised the importance of peaceful protest, standing firm against any form of violence or intimidation based on race or background. Over 100,000 attended the London rally, with a counter-protest of around 5,000 “anti-racism” campaigners. The clashes led to 24 arrests for various offences, from assault to criminal damage.

Home Secretary Shabana Mahmood also condemned the violence, promising those engaging in criminal acts would face justice. Business Secretary Peter Kyle echoed this, suggesting such protests highlight the need for MPs to tackle public concerns like immigration. He admitted that issues stemming from the financial crisis still divide communities, urging for efforts to unite them.

An unexpected twist came with Tesla owner Elon Musk appearing at the protest. Musk controversially urged attendees to demand government change, remarks which Kyle dismissed as inappropriate.
