The project isn’t just about the bells; it’s part of a much larger scheme named Eastgate to Westgate: Levelling Up Pembroke Town. Funded with over £10.5 million from the Levelling Up Fund, this venture is set to revitalise the town, enhancing public spaces and making the town centre more accessible and welcoming.

Council leader Jon Harvey praised the fundraisers for their commitment, noting how their efforts will positively impact the community. The bells have already been carefully removed from the tower for safety reasons, and while work on the building is underway, new contracts for the bell restoration are yet to be signed.

With costs rising and changes in government policy possible, it’s crucial to finalise agreements soon. The community is eager to restore the glorious soundscape that these bells bring to Pembroke, symbolising the town’s vibrant heritage.

Stay tuned for more updates as this fantastic project progresses! 🎶🏰✨
