🚨 **Traffic Alert: A470 Incident Update!** 🚨

Brace yourselves, as we bring you the latest from the A470 in south Wales. Amid Sunday’s relentless rain and whipping winds, there was a dramatic scene on the southbound stretch between Pentrebach and Abercynon.

If you were caught in the queues or stuck in the traffic, here’s why. Just before 1:30pm, a vehicle collision required our brave emergency services to spring into action. Fire crews, police, and paramedics dashed to the scene where one individual was safely cut free from their car. Fortunately, there were no serious injuries, but it’s a reminded of the risks when driving in bad weather.

The A470 saw multiple incidents that day as flash floods and surface water complicated travel plans for many. The Met Office had issued a yellow weather warning, and mother nature didn’t disappoint—or relent!
In a social media post, Rhondda Cynon Taf Council advised of diversions due to the crash, with further traffic challenges northbound beyond Nantgarw, thanks to surface water flooding.
A huge shoutout to all the emergency crews who worked tirelessly to keep everyone safe. 🌧️❤️ Remember folks, always drive carefully and be prepared for unexpected conditions when the weather takes a turn.
