🚨 Important Update for Parents! 🚨

Did you know there are up to 12 changes that could impact your child benefit? It’s crucial for parents to stay informed and keep HMRC updated to ensure you’re getting everything you’re entitled to and to avoid any overpayments. Here’s a quick rundown of what you need to know:

1️⃣ **Education Changes**: If your child is staying in or leaving education, you should update HMRC. Child benefits automatically stop on August 31 after your child turns 16 unless they’re continuing in approved education or training.
2️⃣ **Moving Out**: Inform HMRC if your child moves away for over eight consecutive weeks or for more than 56 days within a 16-week period. This includes moves abroad for longer than 12 weeks or relocations to/from Northern Ireland.
3️⃣ **Changes in Circumstances**: Let HMRC know if your child starts getting universal credit, JSA, or employment and support allowance. Marriages, civil partnerships, or moving in with a partner should also be reported.
4️⃣ **Health & Care**: Report if your child enters care, residential accommodation for more than eight weeks, or a hospital stay exceeding 12 weeks.
5️⃣ **Legal Changes**: Notify if there are changes in your child’s legal gender status.
6️⃣ **Serious Situations**: In unfortunate events like the loss of a child, only the person claiming child benefit can inform HMRC about these changes.
Stay proactive and make sure to keep HMRC updated with any relevant changes. It’s all about making sure you receive the right support without any hiccups! 💷
