**Save Our School: The Fight for Manorbier’s Future!**

A campaign is underway to rescue the 150-year-old Manorbier Church in Wales VC School after a devastating fire nearly three years ago left the cherished institution in ruins. Community members are rallying together, calling for Pembrokeshire County Council to reconsider plans to close the beloved school.

A petition launched by passionate local, Rebecca Williams, has already garnered over 1,000 signatures. It implores the council to honour their promise to rebuild the school, highlighting its irreplaceable role in the community for generations. “The fire was not our fault,” the petition insists, stressing the untold impact closing the school could have on children, families, and the broader community.
The historic school has been an education cornerstone since 1873, and its closure is seen by many as a potential loss to local heritage as well as a vital educational resource. A temporary “school from school” has been set up at Jameston Village Hall, but locals desperately want their original landmark restored.
Rebecca’s heartfelt plea is clear: “We urge you to rebuild our school, to engage in meaningful dialogue with the community, and work with us to find a solution that supports the needs of our children and families.”
Meanwhile, Ysgol Clydau in Tegryn is facing a similar threat. Local councillor Iwan Ward, standing firmly against its potential closure, describes it as the “heart of our society,” emphasising that it’s about more than just education—it’s where children find a sense of belonging and community.
With discussions about the future of these schools on the horizon, the community’s voice grows louder. Join in the discussion and show your support for the future of Manorbier and Ysgol Clydau.
