π Heartbreak for Dragons at Rodney Parade! ππΏπ¦

In a nail-biting clash against the Sharks, the Dragons came agonisingly close to securing their first league win in over a year, finishing with a tense 17-17 draw in Newport last night. It was a dramatic encounter, full of highs and lows, that had fans on the edge of their seats until the very end.

The game kicked off with the Sharks’ Springbok second-row Marvin Orie powering over for the first try, and it seemed like history might repeat itself, but the Dragons had other plans. Debutant Fetuli Paea made a massive impact, carving through the Sharks’ defence, with Aaron Wainwright and Angus O’Brien crossing the line for tries that kept hopes alive.

With the clock ticking down and conditions more suited to sailors than rugby players, it was a true test of grit and resilience for Filo Tiatia’s side. Tinus de Beer’s boot was instrumental, slotting penalties that kept the Dragons level, even as they struggled in the scrum and lost Paea to injury.
A yellow card for new Wales cap Chris Coleman didn’t help matters as the team was reduced to 14 men with eight minutes remaining. Yet, the Dragons showed their fighting spirit, pushing hard in the dying seconds, looking for that elusive winning try. As the ball slipped forward, the final whistle blew, denying them victory but leaving fans proud of the effort.
While it’s not the result the Dragons wished for, there’s plenty to build on as they battle through this tough run. Onwards and upwards! πͺ
