This regeneration will breathe new life into Barry. Expect a revamped Barry Dock Office turning into a buzzing business hub, a stunning new public park, and a top-notch educational and water sports activity centre. This is all set to happen at The Mole on Barry Waterfront with plans for a stylish cafe overlooking the water.

Cllr Mark Wilson calls the scheme “amazing,” promising it’ll spark more development in Barry. The necessary funding is all secured, targeting a 2028 completion.

The council is collaborating with The Ocean Watersports Trust and Cardiff and Vale College to make this vision a reality. They’re also looking for an operator to manage the Dock Office with refurbishments funded by the available grants.

While ABP’s exit from the marina aspect was disappointing, their commitment to the overall project remains strong. And despite some jitters over grant funding, the UK Government assures financial support continues for levelling up projects like this one.

All eyes are now on the necessary planning consents, aiming for work to kick off in 2026-27. It’s set to be a game-changer for Barry and we can’t wait to see it unfold! 🌊 #BarryMakingWaves #BarryRegeneration #ValeOfGlamorgan #UKProjects #CommunityGrowth
