A man has been sentenced to five years behind bars for making chilling threats to Nigel Farage. Fayaz Khan, 26, was convicted of threatening to kill the Reform UK leader through a TikTok post. The court heard that his video was anything but a casual remark—it was sinister and menacing. Prosecutors revealed that Khan, an Afghan migrant, used a false name in the UK to hide his criminal past in Sweden, where he’s known as Fayaz Husseini and is believed to be 31. With 17 convictions across 12 different incidents, including drug offences, he’s no stranger to the law.

During sentencing at Southwark Crown Court, the judge highlighted the severity of Khan’s actions, noting that his threat was far more than mere words—it was an explicit intention to kill with a firearm. Despite being sentenced to five years, Mr Farage expressed concerns that Khan could be free in just 18 months, living in the UK while his asylum claim is processed.

After the ruling, Khan shouted from the dock, suggesting that Farage was using him as a political pawn. His defence lawyer argued that Khan’s TikTok antics were meant more as attention-seeking behaviour rather than an actual threat. Yet, the court didn’t buy it, especially given Khan’s gun-related gesturing and ominous words.
As Khan embarked on his journey to the UK, live-streaming his passage across the Channel, he was arrested shortly after stepping onto British soil. With political figures needing protection from such threats, this verdict sends a clear message that attempts to intimidate won’t go unpunished. Let’s hope this serves as a wake-up call to ensure our leaders can do their jobs free from fear.
