🚨 Big News from Newport! 🚨 A drug operation in Wales has been busted, and the gang members behind it will be spending some serious time behind bars. Said Kaid, 35, was at the helm of this organised crime group, trafficking nearly three kilograms of cocaine across Newport, Cwmbran, and Pontypool. With the gang earning over £145,000, you’d think they’d be set, but Kaid now has to repay only £7,700 of his ill-gotten gains. 💸

Dubbed Operation Biggin, this successful police operation wrapped up after intensive investigation and community reports. Raids uncovered 15 mobile phones that helped police piece together the web of this drug distribution chain. Along with Kaid, ringleader Jamie Webber, 35, and others including Michael Cornwall, 43, Alexa Cronin, 42, and Kaid’s sister Nabeela Kaid, 36, were all brought to justice.
👏 Kudos to the Gwent Police and the community for stepping up and ensuring these criminals face the music. Kaid received an 8-year sentence, and in total, the gang will face nearly 30 years in prison collectively.

Detective Chief Inspector Matthew Edwards called attention to the critical role community intelligence played in dismantling the operation, reinforcing how vital local cooperation can be in such investigations.

🕵️♂️ While Kaid’s direct earnings from this crime were over £145,000, a court only found him with assets worth £7,700. If he can’t cough up within three months, he faces an extra four months in prison.
Let’s give a round of applause to all the officers and detectives who worked tirelessly to bring this crime group down and make our streets safer! 🙌 Keep the conversations going, folks! How do you think communities can better aid in combating organised crime? Share your thoughts! 🗣️
