Andrew Hallam, 45, has been jailed after a shocking series of crimes that saw him secretly filming women and girls in intimate settings for over six years. Hallam hid cameras in bathrooms and changing rooms across Nottinghamshire, Derbyshire, and Lincolnshire to capture these personal moments without the victims’ knowledge. His disturbing activities came to a head when police discovered the footage on his mobile phone, alongside nearly 300 indecent images of children.

Hallam didn’t just stop at voyeurism. He also sexually assaulted multiple underage girls and women, exploiting different locations to quietly execute his vile acts from 2023 to 2024 in Nottingham. His covert operations even led him to travel to Derbyshire, where he set up cameras targeting a teenage girl.

It was one brave victim who finally put an end to his spree, realising what had happened and calling the police. Hallam was charged with 20 serious offences, including sexual assault, voyeurism, and creating indecent images of children. Overwhelmed by the evidence against him, Hallam, from Beeston, pleaded guilty to all charges and was sentenced to over nine years in prison.
Detective Constable Lucy Clarke, who worked on the case, condemned Hallam’s “shameful acts” and highlighted the damage inflicted on his victims. She praised their courage in helping secure his conviction, stating that Hallam posed a clear danger to women and girls. Now, with a Sexual Harm Prevention Order and restraining orders in place, his victims can find a measure of peace.
This case serves as a grim reminder of the need to remain vigilant and to support law enforcement in bringing offenders to justice. Let’s hope Hallam’s incarceration brings some solace to those he hurt and acts as a warning to others who might contemplate similar crimes.
