The group consisted of students from three primary schools – Radnor Primary School, Ysgol Treganna, and Ysgol Pwll Coch. The bike bus initiative involves children and parents meeting at a designated location before school and cycling together in a convoy. This particular event marked the coming together of the three Cardiff schools to create the “biggest bike bus” ever seen in Wales.

Eight-year-old William Euden shared his enthusiasm for cycling, expressing it as a favourite hobby of his. Since its inception in 2022, William has been a regular participant in the bike bus to Radnor Primary School, which was the first of its kind in Wales. The initiative, established by teachers at Radnor in partnership with Sustrans, a leading walking and cycling charity in the UK, has continued to flourish. The bike bus not only promotes physical activity but also fosters a sense of community among the participants.
Caroline Gwynn, accompanied by her seven-year-old son Penri, highlighted the community spirit and safety aspects that she values in the bike bus. Riding in the company of other families and with dedicated marshals ensuring safety, Caroline expressed her appreciation for being able to cycle confidently to school.
