An 18-year-old named Kian Bateman has admitted to causing the tragic death of 38-year-old Shelley Davies due to dangerous driving outside a Cardiff club, but denies the more serious charges of murder and manslaughter. The heartbreaking incident occurred when Bateman’s car collided with pedestrians on Heol Trelai, resulting in severe injuries that Shelley, a beloved mother, couldn’t recover from. She passed away weeks later from multiple organ failure and other devastating injuries.

The scene of the crash was thoroughly investigated, with police creating a wide cordon to gather evidence. Despite denying murder charges, Bateman accepted responsibility for dangerous driving leading to Ms Davies’s death. He also denied attempted murder and unlawful wounding of another individual, David Bratcher, but admitted to causing him serious injury by dangerous driving.
