🌨️❄️ *Stay Safe, Don’t Risk It!* ❄️🌨️

With Storm Goretti causing chaos across the UK, there’s an important message going out to all employers: *Don’t punish your team if they can’t make it to work due to the weather!* ⛈️

The Trades Union Congress (TUC) is urging bosses to show understanding and sensibility. They highlight that no one should be pressured into making dangerous journeys in these conditions. When snow and ice cause transport issues, it’s only reasonable for businesses to let staff work from home if possible.

TUC’s General Secretary, Paul Nowak, notes the stress many might be facing with weather warnings sounding off. “Employers must show basic common sense,” he insists. “Workers shouldn’t be penalised with lost pay or forced to take holidays due to bad weather.”
And let’s not forget the parents! With schools closing, some might need to juggle between work and caring for their kids.
Yellow weather warnings for snow and ice are active across Scotland, England, and Northern Ireland, extending into Saturday. The Met Office warns of icy patches and possible travel disruptions. 🌨️🥶
Stay tuned, stay safe, and let’s all show some empathy and understanding during these frosty times. 🌬️💼🧣
