Dr. Janina Gray from WildFish warns that current government standards are too low to protect these precious ecosystems. While efforts like a £2 billion funding initiative aim to clean Britain’s rivers, including modernising the way water is used, more needs to be done to protect these natural gems! 🌿

Despite these alarming stats, WildFish urges government bodies to step up their game and elevate environmental standards to genuinely safeguard chalk streams. They also advocate for all chalk streams to be designated as Special Areas of Conservation to ensure their survival.
