🌧️ Heads up, folks! The Met Office has just issued an amber ‘danger to life’ warning for Wales, as we brace for a wet and wild start to the week. Monday is set to deliver a torrential downpour, upgraded from a previous yellow warning, with significant rain expected across all of south Wales. This means some areas might witness 60-80 mm of rain, and in certain spots, it could be as much as 100-120 mm! ⛈️
The warning is in effect from midnight tonight until 11pm tomorrow, so if you’re in counties like Cardiff, Swansea, or Pembrokeshire (to name a few), it’s time to hunker down and get prepared. Along with the heavy rain, expect strong winds especially around coastal areas, making travel challenging. Flooding of homes and businesses is likely, and the disruption could include power cuts, transport delays, and road closures.
Fast-flowing or deep floodwater could cause serious danger, so please stay safe and avoid unnecessary travel. If you’re planning any journeys over the next couple of days, keep a close eye on updates and plan accordingly. 🌧️💨
