Heavy rainfall has turned the A499, a key route to the popular holiday spot of Abersoch, into a stunning causeway! 🌧️ The picturesque Llŷn Peninsula took a beating from the weather, resulting in this extraordinary scene.
The Met Office warnings didn’t miss—Capel Curig became the wettest place in the UK, recording a massive 73mm of rain in just 24 hours. The intense downpour led to road closures and flood alerts across Eryri and Pen Llŷn.
Most notably, the A499 between Pwllheli and Abersoch is submerged, forcing its closure. 📸 Photos by Phill Boyd show the road and nearby fields inundated with water. Drivers are warned to be cautious if navigating the area today.
