🚨 Police Alert: Beware of Fake Officers! 🚨

Hey everyone, just a heads up on a serious issue happening in Cardiff. Recently, a 78-year-old gentleman from St Mellons became the second victim of a doorstep scam involving someone pretending to be a police officer! 😠
This incident follows another one just last week where an 80-year-old man from Riverside was swindled out of £16,000. He received an official-sounding call from someone claiming to be the police and was then persuaded to withdraw cash, which was then stolen right from his front door! 😮

Nawaf Abdullahi from Islington has been caught and charged with these fraudulent crimes. He’ll be facing more legal proceedings soon.

Detective Superintendent Tom Moore from South Wales Police says, “We’re committed to protecting vulnerable people from such scams.” He reminds everyone that real police never ask for money or send couriers to collect cash or valuables from your home. 🚔
Always verify who’s at your door and keep an eye out for your elderly family and neighbours. If something feels off, report it immediately to the police at 101. Let’s keep each other safe! 💪
Stay alert and share this info to spread the awareness. Remember, you can also contact Crimestoppers anonymously at 0800 555 111 if you have any tips or find yourself in a suspicious situation.
Let’s look out for each other! ❤️ Stay safe out there.
