A disturbing incident in Barry Island has left the local community in disbelief. On Tuesday evening, a 15-year-old boy became the target of a brutal assault by a group of males in the Paget Road car park, around 7:30 PM. The despicable attack, captured on video and widely shared online, shows the group relentlessly kicking and hitting the boy while he lay defenceless on the ground.
The footage has understandably sparked outrage among residents and visitors to Barry Island, known for its bustling summer vibe and scenic views. South Wales Police are treating this as a serious assault and have made an urgent appeal for any information that could aid their investigation.
Detective Inspector Phillip Marchant from Barry CID described the attack as “cowardly and vicious,” stressing the incident could have had even more dire consequences. In response, officers have increased patrols in this popular area.
