Late Tuesday evening, a major search effort was launched along the River Taff in Treharris following a report of a potential body sighting in the water. The operation saw a multi-agency response, including officers, a police helicopter, the coastguard, and the fire service. Despite a thorough search using specialist equipment, nothing was found.
A representative from South Wales Police stated, “We responded swiftly after receiving the report. However, since Tuesday night, no further information or sightings have been brought to our attention.” Consequently, the search has been concluded.
