🎸**Lostprophets Bandmate’s Chilling Warning** 🎸

Just before the horrific truth about Lostprophets’ frontman Ian Watkins came to light, guitarist Mike Lewis shared a grave warning: “Stay away from him. He’s succumbed to darkness.”
Watkins, who passed away last weekend in Wakefield Prison after an alleged attack by inmates, was in the midst of a 29-year sentence for his abhorrent crimes. Known for his shocking offences involving children, his story leaves a haunting mark on the music world.

Journalist Ian Winwood highlighted Lewis’s warning back in 2012, capturing a glimpse of the turmoil brewing within the once-successful Welsh band. Tensions flared as Watkins spiralled into substance abuse, gradually distancing himself from his bandmates.
By 2007, Watkins detached himself, staying in separate hotels and travelling alone. Music journalist Gavin Allen suggests this isolation was deliberate, a way to conceal his malicious deeds.
After Watkins’ arrest and conviction in 2013, Lostprophets disbanded, and the remaining members formed No Devotion, seeking a new beginning.
A specific remark by the Honourable Mr Justice Royce during Watkins’ sentencing in 2013 lingers: it was impossible to truly know “the extremes Watkins would have reached were it not for his arrest,” underlining the sinister depths of his actions.
Following his death, Joanne Mjadzelics, Watkins’ former partner, expressed relief: “He had a target on his back from day one in prison. The man I fell in love with never existed.”
Those allegedly responsible for Watkins’ death, Rashid Gedel and Samuel Dodsworth, now face murder charges, with a trial set for May 2026. 🎤 🎶
