A terrifying night in Ilford, East London! A suspected arson attack on a restaurant has left three people fighting for their lives. Late on Friday night, emergency crews rushed to Woodford Avenue where flames had engulfed part of the ground floor. The fast-acting London Fire Brigade managed to rescue five people, while nine others fortunately escaped on their own. Among the injured are three women and two men, all receiving hospital treatment, with three in critical condition.
Detections and investigations are in full swing as police and fire services work to uncover the cause of the blaze. Residents can expect a strong police presence in the area, as detectives tirelessly piece together the shocking events of the night.
London Ambulance Service swung into action deploying a robust response team, including ambulance crews and paramedics from the hazardous area response team alongside a trauma team from London’s Air Ambulance.
Local MP, Health Secretary Wes Streeting, praised the efforts of the emergency response team. But for now, the message is clear: avoid the area if possible and allow these critical services to continue their vital work.
