A fire erupted above a Chinese takeaway on Church Street, Ebbw Vale, drawing a massive emergency response on Wednesday, December 17. Crews from Ebbw Vale, Tredegar, and Brynmawr tackled the blaze, reported just after noon.
🚒 Firefighters brought the flames under control using hose reel jets, breathing apparatus, and a thermal imaging camera. Gwent Police secured the area, closing roads between Armoury Terrace and Church Street for nearly eight hours, reopening just after 9:00 pm.
🏢 The property is used by multiple occupants, including the Sundo takeaway. Thanks to a swift response, the fire was extinguished by 2:05 pm, and safety checks were conducted on neighbouring homes to ensure everyone’s safety.
